If I counted correctly, there are some 12 announced candidates running for the D-ticket nomination, and we have yet to hear from other potential challengers like Biden, Beto, Bloomberg and de Blasio, among others. There is a long road ahead to the 2020 convention, and plenty of time to hear from all of them.
Bernie is but one choice, and he already has a well articulated plan that appealed to a lot of D's and I's in 2016. Most of the D's have similar views on health care, immigration, and education, but may have different means to an end as to how to get there. It will be interesting to see how they choose to distinguish themselves from each other. Bernie chooses to call himself a Democratic Socialist to make that distiction, and so be it. The polls will eventually tell the story and D's will choose a nominee.
If the never-Trumpers do not care for the Democrats, then please go out and get your own candidate to run against Trump. You might start with Bill Weld, former (R) governor of MA, who is considering a primary challenge to Trump in his own party. Maybe he would work for you?
Maybe there will be others, like John Kasich, a moderate R, who recently signed on to pundit for CNN. It's reported that he is also sending out fundraising material under Kasich for America, described as a multi-candidate PAC. He's often mentioned the possibility of running as an Independent or on a bi-partisan ticket.
