So, wadda ya think - Nazis or closet antisemitic?

Neither. what the article says is the snowflakes didnt follow procedure.

Yes, and their original rejection said nothing about "procedures". It said, " "...they are "unable to identify an available campus venue" for the event. Berkeley did not provide an alternative accommodation or date to host Shapiro as a speaker...."

No mention of procedure in that.

from your link :

Berkeley later decided that despite the BCR not following the school’s venue booking rules, they would reconsider their pushback against the group’s event request, according to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE).

“It’s clear that we have a number of workable options,” Dan Mogulof, a top administrator in Berkeley’s public affairs office, told FIRE. “This event is going to happen.

So the College Republicns didnt follow procedure, but Berkeley is going to accomodte the little snowflakes anyway. So much so, the article mentions the college will pick up the fee for the paid venue, because the lil darlings didnt follow procedure to get a free one. So here we are, coddling them. You need to read the links you post.

Why, of course not.

Whatever prompted posting such a question?

The members of the alt right showed us all what they are about. or do you think these people were an abheration of the true meaning of the alt right? was that friday night mob NOT indicitave of your views on the alt right? Im sure in your education on mobs you have read about Crystalnacht? You confuse ( intentionally ) Black Bloc with our home grown antifa. SInce you are so strongly opposed to ANTI FASCISM..what do you expect us to think of your proclivities? you hide behind the constitution and free speech and subtley proclaim support for the extremely unconstitutional alt right, and oppose the antifa which in this instance supports the constitution.

Except for the costumes some wore, there was no telling who was who at Charlottesville. Yes I read about Kristallnacht - it was carried out by mobs very similar to the anarchists that you applaud. Clarification - I am not opposed to anti-fascism, I am opposed to the fascists of antifa. There is no rational way you can say that mobs in the street physically attacking people are supporting the Constitution.

But, back to the topic. Do you see where Spencer isn't opposed to people identifying with their roots no matter what they are? I grew up where we dank "cawfee". On St. Paddy's Day they painted the street lines green. On the designated day, streets were blocked off so those of Italian descent could carry their Saint statues in the parade. We had Puerto Rican day parades, etc. We were all Americans and Noo Yawkers but we all also enjoyed our heritage. Do you see anything wrong with that, including "White Pride" (Spencer's thing)?

Now, I will admit that Spencer does go off the deep end a bit and I do not consider myself a fan. But, it is pure hate and ignorance to bundle every fringe group out there under the title "alt-right" and even more so to include Conservatives and the President.

The Prez is defining himself to be a member of the extreme alt right. Those in denial of the root cause of the violence in Charlottesville are also in denial.

Before saying that our President, or anyone else, "is defining himself" I believe it is necessary to have a definition. Since Spencer coined the term, might it not be a good idea to see what he thinks it means?

A good example of a rather loose definition is to call someone preferring the Constitution, the Courts, the police, and the rule of law to resolve issues of free speech rather than have it resolved by masked anarchists "alt-right".

I think we should keep the term. It was coined by a former Grand Wizard of the KKK and has come to mean fascists, Nazis, KKK, and any other far right group.  It makes a nice shorthand when referring to those folks. as a collective group.

I have no objections to keeping it - I'd just like to define it. And that is the point of this topic. The problem is that to some it has come to mean, "Anyone I disagree with politically".

Then there are the comments about it being coined by a former Grand Dragon. I've looked everywhere including the socialistworker.org extensive piece on all the "bad actors" including our President, but no mention of Spencer's title. It was an interesting article to read - so much of it is copied by some of our fellow poster - or maybe just of the same mindset.
