The RW bloggers here won't care.    They appear to be so divorced from morality and ethics that lying is just another part of their day to day behavior.

Acting AG Matthew Whitaker falsely claimed 'All-American' academic honors on resume, government forms

He’s an All-American fraud.

Matthew Whitaker, the acting attorney general handpicked by President Trump, falsely claimed on his résumé and in government forms that he was named an Academic All-American while playing football at the University of Iowa, according to the organization that awards the honor.

Whitaker, who played tight end on the university team between 1990 and 1992, claimed to have received the coveted designation on his defunct law firm’s website, on a state application for an Iowa judgeship and in a resume released by the Federal Trade Commission last month.

But, as first reported by The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, Whitaker’s name is not included on a list of Academic All-Americans published on the website of the College Sports Information Directors of America, the organization that hands out the title.

Barb Kowal, a spokeswoman for CoSIDA, told the Journal there are no records that Whitaker was ever given the honor.

The prestigious title is given to student athletes who receive a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3.

Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec claimed Whitaker included his nonexistent title in forms because he was going off a 1993 football guide printed by his alma mater. Kupec declined to comment further.

The guide listed Whitaker as a “GTE District VII academic All-American.”

However, the label simply means you are part of the academic program that advances the title, not that you have actually received it, according to CoSIDA.

Steve Roe, an athletic director at the University of Iowa, took some of the blame for the misstep, saying, “If there is confusion at all, part of it could be how we listed it in our media guide.”

Trump named Whitaker acting AG after forcing out Jeff Sessions last month.

The move raised eyebrows since Whitaker isn’t Senate-confirmed, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein would have been the natural replacement until Trump announced a permanent nominee.

Moreover, Whitaker’s installment has been rebuked by critics who say Trump may have tapped him because of his outspoken contempt for special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating the President’s campaign connections to Russia.
