Re: A well deserved Nobel Prize

As a recent reminder:    Donald 'said" that he was donating his paycheck (quarterly?) to National Parks.      I can't wait for Fahrenthold reports.    Donald in his bubble will never believe that someone who has just won national acclaim for excellence in journalism would ever dare to check twice.

Reminder:   National Park Service is not a charity and one cannot donate to them directly (as per their web page).   https://www.nps.gov/getinvolved/donate.htm

And then there is this:   https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnists/2017/04/15/column-trumps-parks-donation-misleading...

"Trump Supporters" take note.  'You can't make this stuff up'.  Once brought to light, such things are not so easy to sweep under the rug and claim they're just not there.  There IS a there, here AND there it is !

Republican denial is being outed every day by Journalist.    This is a what journalism is about.   It is also why so many people have finally made the leap and started paying for on-line news from places such as WAPO and NYT.   Each person who is sending these news companies cash are also paying for more time for journalists to "do their job" and not be stenographers that came about following 9/11.

Mr. Fahrenthold was given the time / resources to do his job and this is what most Americans want from journalism, not what Fox and their team of "we are not journalists" present to the bobble-head non-thinkers.

Richva --

The right neck deep in  constant denial and consumed with the lies and entities such as Breitbart and FOX, will say this is "fake news"  as trump continues to rate this nation of all that is good.

A well deserved Nobel Prize

It is very, very good to see this award. Fahrenthold followed up on a Trump "hollow promise" and uncovered that he stiffed charities of the funds he promised.

Gotta love the Republican family values, eh?

Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold remembers being struck by Donald Trump’s pledge to donate $6 million, including $1 million of his personal funds, to veterans groups during a televised fundraiser before the Iowa caucuses early last year. Did Trump follow through? he wondered. So, weeks after the event, Fahrenthold started asking questions.

For several months, he found, the answer was no, despite assurances to the contrary from Trump’s campaign. When Trump finally made the donation in late May, the reporter set off on a broader inquiry. In a detailed series of articles, he found that many of Trump’s philanthropic claims over the years had been exaggerated and often were not truly charitable activities at all.

On Monday, Fahrenthold’s investigative digging was rewarded with the Pulitzer Prize, journalism’s most prestigious award. His work documenting the future president’s charitable practices won the award for national reporting.
