Alamo 2.0 is already up and running, using the lessons learned in Cambridge Analytica's victory for BREXIT. Just look at the RW posts here and see the fear and loathing already inserted into the minds of the GOPerbots - calling the refugees "an invading Army spewing hoards of murderers and rapists into our society", with the ToadPOTUS using its Bully Pulpet to drive home the message on Fox and Twitter. Exactly the tactic used to scare Brits about the "hoards of immigrants" who were "invading England and changing their culture FOREVER"....UNLESS they voted for Brexit to stop the invasion.

The GOPerLords have discovered their wedge issue - secure borders - and have pulled out all the stops to flood the minds of The Undecided with images of America overrun with poor brown people who will take their jobs and rape their daughters. The only hope is The Wall, and the man who is sworn to build it.

That will sound absurd to rational people, but the rational folks haven't been targeted for the last 3 years with a constant barrage of internet posts lying about the nature of the problem and pushing every latent racist button their targets possess.

Steve Bannon and his neoNazi wing of the GOP are deadly serious about the need to destroy our society so they can rebuild it in their image. Long past time for the Democratic Party to accept it's a new game with new rules, and go after the "undecideds" and flip them to the side of Democracy and Freedom  with the same ferver Bannon is flipping them to the Dark Side of racism and hatred.

Great Netflex documentary "The Great Hack" about how Cambridge Analytica, a child of Steve Bannon, managed to win the election for Brexit AND Bonespurs WUSSolini.

Really simple -to elect the least qualified person to ever run for President,  they got oceans of personal data on American voters from Facebook, sorted out the "undecided" voters in 4 swing States by district, analyzed their likes and dislikes to determine what lies they would most easily swallow and then spent $1,000,000 on Facebook posts on each of the last 60 days sending those undecideds anti-Hillary messages tailored to their worst fears and greatest hatreds.

They had honed their techniques in Trinadad-Tabago by targeting the black youth vote with 'DON'T VOTE" propaganda, cut the black 18-25 turnout by 40% and gave the Indian candidates a 6% margin of victory in a VERY closely contested election. They've also worked in half a dozen countries, backing anti-immigrant, ultra Nationalist candidates and causes.

Anybody who doesn't understand how this rigged the election for the Orange Toad doesn't understand period.

Trump has been able to tap into a part of this country that felt that no one was listening, that we were completely going to the wrong place in this country. Cal it to the Left, call it socialism call it whatever you want.

Call it the Status Quo. Call it Hillary.

It's simple: we can do better.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/oct/23/bernie-sanders-elizabeth-warren-democratic-par...

Think Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are the same? They aren't

Though Warren is an ally of many progressive causes, the best chance we have to reconfigure a generation of American politics lies with Sanders

Comment:

That is where I am now, Sanders or Warren.

Some argue the Red Scare of the fifties was was to break the FDR coalition of progressives, some of those progressives were militant labor leaders, socialist or communist, who understood the 1% of that time would not ceed or share power. They understood if workers wanted power it would have to be taken.

The Red Scare was successful, the militants in unions were removed, de-industralization began in the seventies, Reagan was elected in 1980 and started the process of printing money, and here we are today.

The reason Europe has a strong social safety net, and was not  de-industrialized as the US was is strong unions. Unions in Europe were never purged of socialist and communist, those unions  made it to expensive to off shore production though laws, so the industry stayed in Europe.

America is in decline and China is rising because we didn't do the same in the US.

Warren has a plan, and is a progressive, but we might need a tenacious socialist to turn this around.

Kid boy 2-

I assume all to be friends until they prove to be otherwise.

And I appreicate that you value me as an expert- I never claimed such myself- just to be as honest as I can possibly be.

And who to replace the current occupant? Just about ANYONE would be better. The present occupant is a molester, a liar, a thief, a con man, a cheater in every sense of the word. Selfish doesn't even come close to describing the mind of the present occupant.

Again, I thank you for your evalaution of me as expert.

Ed

Good morning to all-

Friends, those of us on this forum and with AARP are important to the country. We may be crucial at this point to the country. We have experience and we have time to reflect and consider what's going on around us. We can and MUST voice our opinions and then actually go out and vote when it comes time to do so.

But before that, we must look at the world as it is at this point. It's really very simple, I think.

After years- too many, I say- of the present occupant of the White House and his supporters and their actions and words, can you truthfully and honestly say that you believe the world is a better place?  Are you happy with the way our country is treating other people, other countries, and yes, even our own people here at home?  Do you truly feel the present occupant of the White House is helping the country and world improve?

I think that any person with near-normal intelligence and honesty won't have to think long about this simple question.

Friends, we need to vote this plague out- the present occupant and his vile, nasty supporters in Congress, too.

It's simple: we can do better.

good morning to all- Ed
