40% of police officers ......

Two studies have found that at least 40% of police officer families experience domestic violence,  in contrast to 10% of families in the general population.

Many of our police have a propensity towards violence. Many of our police are ex-military that did tours of duty in the Middle East (or were in battle elsewhere) and may be suffering from PTSD or having other emotional problems.  Some others just may not really be fit to be a police officer or have a high stress job. Some people in these categories display abusive/violent behaviors at home. IMO, officers who commit domestic violence at home should be removed from being a police officer, it's only a matter of time before they commit unnecessary violent acts on duty.
