From the news:

he Congressional Budget Office stated that they won't be able to provide a full score of the projected 10-year impact of the Graham-Cassidy bill for "at least several weeks". Instead, they expect to provide a partial score, focusing purely on the budget-related stuff necessary to "count" towards Senate reconciliation voting rules "early next week".

What won't be included are some pretty damned important details, like:

  • Impact on the federal deficit
  • Impact on insurance premiums, and of course...
  • Impact on the number of people with health insurance coverage

Unfortunately, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are insisting on squeezing the vote on Graham-Cassidy through within the next 10 days, before the fiscal year ends on Sept. 30th, since that's the only way they have a chance at passing it using 50 votes (after the 30th, they would require 60 votes, which of course they have no chance at getting).

And that does not include the punishment that this bill will do to insurance companies, states that actually respect a woman the right to make choices about their own reproductive health.

GOP will spend less than 2 minutes debating a bill to decide health care for 40 million kids

The latest Republican bill to repeal Obamacare would be the most brutal cut to child health care in modern politics. Republicans plan to spend only 90 seconds debating it on the Senate floor.

In their latest Obamacare repeal attempt, Republicans have made clear that they do not care about regular order or Senate tradition, and are blowing up the schedule to get the nightmarish Graham-Cassidy bill passed.

Senate Republicans have organized a couple of sham hearings, but will move forward without a full CBO score and no time to mark up or amend the bill.

Even more shocking, due to the way they have forced the bill through the reconciliation process, they will only be allowing 90 seconds of debate on the Senate floor.

Rushing any significant legislation like this is bad enough, but to do so when the primary victims will be children is utterly cruel.

I'd call what they're doing evil.
