Re: $300 Billion MEDICARE CUT in the Tax Bill proposed by the HOUSE GOP/NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS

When Republicans slash Medicare and Medicaid, they are only reducing the Government's share of your health care costs, you won't be healthier, someone else will just have to pay more and that someone is YOU.

The one's who will not pay more are the ones who President Obama already charged more  the ones who can easily afford it (those poor souls earning more than $250,000 IN RETIREMENT). But the Uberrich bought the GOP and now they will redistribute the cost of health care from their pockets to YOURS.

The cuts to Medicaid and the insidious addition of millions of dead-beats back to the ER as their primary care provider are designed to destroy PPACA with no replacement even considered - it's what GOPers really wanted in the first place, the return to the good old days when Corporate health care providers could charge whoever they wanted whatever they wanted and exclude all those they wanted.

Remember, allowing healthy young people to remain uninsured does NOT make them invulnerable, it makes them parasites, getting the care they need WITHOUT PAYING. They will become sick and injured at exactly the same rate they did when they were insured and paying for it, but now YOU will have to pick up the cost of THEIR care and that will cause your costs to skyrocket.

Thanks a bunch Hillary Haters.

There are two versions the Senate and House Versions, both use cuts in Social Securty, Medicare and Medicaid to pay for MASSIVE TAX CUTS FOR THE VICIOUS RICH.

Screen-Shot-2017-10-04-at-2.14.48-PM-1507141028[1].pngThe proposed fiscal 2018 budget resolution Senate Republicans announced last week would lead to a $1 trillion cut to Medicaid and $473 billion cut to Medicare over the next decade. So every time someone snipes at our numbers, remember they are using whichever number which benefits them the most at the moment, but the real numbers are far worse than they let on. There are no limits on Republican Dishonest.

Obamacare was only cuts to government spending, it accounted for $741 billion of the health law's financing. It's mostly changes to how the government pays the doctors and hospitals who provide care to Medicaid and Medicare patients.

(see the chart here to show where the spending cuts were made)

Medigap Plans F and ? Are going away in 2020 - that's bound to save money.

Accountable Care Organizations seem to be saving money too - just put more people into them.

There are many ways to tweak savings - have people pick a primary care physician and have all referrals done thru them - already done in many MA plans, Medicaid managed care plans.  And many other countries do this same thing in their public systems.

BTW, PayGo is only as good as the parties working together - look at the new CHIP Reauthorization legislation - some of the offset is suppose to be a higher (100%) charge for Medicare Part B premiums for people making over $500,000 per year - the Democrats say no way ???????? Woman Frustrated ???????

So CHIP will be reauthorized by the end of the year with some budgetary motion that will just add to the deficit.

Spoken like a true far right Reb. You do say pay Go. Well that cuts in right away and the cuts will start, and this congress will not stop them as the far right Reb. have been trying to cut SS, medicare, medicaid, all programs for average people for a long time. This is the new way they are trying. You speak about the deficit, yet the approach you support will add to the deficit so why do you support it? Lets cut the deficit and not have this so called TAX Cut bill. Do you support cutting the deficit then tell all to kill the bill in the Senate.

You are correct ron dennis there is no cut to Medicare in the tax bill. However in the devious manner in which the GOP works. the enormous cost the of tax bill would prompt immediate and automatic spending cuts to Medicare of $25 billion in 2018 alone. The Bill would add an estimated $1.5 trillion to the deficit over a decade. Under the "pay-as-you-go" rules a cut to the mandatory spending of 4 percent to Medicare is mandated because of the increase of the deficit. 25 billion times 10 years equals $250 billion--not quite the $300 billion mentioned.

What then is going to be cut? Massive Tax Cuts for Rich Republicans, The Senate is required to offset tax cuts with spending cuts. Republican Members of Congress said raising the Social Security/Medicare Age to 70 will cover the $300 Billion in Medicare Cuts.  If not that, then what is it that you and your fellow Republicans propose to cut? No excuses, give an answer. Not to challenge your integrity, but the track record on your side is not good. Trump promised to raise the STARVATION MINIMUM WAGE to $10 an hour during the campaign, after he won, he admitted that he lied. Got their votes, cut their throats. He made STARVATION MINIMUM WAGE EMPLOYEES a promise, BUT DID NOT KEEP THAT PROMISE  Think I am lying? From the Wall Street Journal. https://www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trump-calls-for-10-hourly-minimum-wage-breaks-from-gop-position-...

I thought at first that maybe you purposely were putting out fake news (chrono comment 1) because it was so absurdly not true. But now I realize you really do not understand that you're citing some swamp-dweller's nutty opinion about the future and then claiming that his or her nutty opinion applies to what actually exists in today's tax reform bill.

That would mean that you also support this nut's opinion that we should raise everyone's taxes. You actually do not have to wait. You can donate to the U.S. Treasury any time you want.

He did in fact propose Medicare/National Health Insurance in 1948. I appreciate your Republican Point of View. Is that you Paul Ryan or is this a RUSSIAN REPUBLICAN. It is a Tax Bill as I Indicated, which I indicated cuts $300 Billions, Republican members of Congress when asked what the $300 BILLION IN CUTS TO MEDICARE MEAN, several REPUBLICAN MEMBERS of Congress said that since Americans live longer, we should raise the Eligibility AGE TO 70.  What then do you as a Republican propose the $300 BILLION IN CUTS to mean, Comrade Republican? NO DOUBLE TALK, $300,000,000,000 in MEDICARE CUTS MEANS SOMETHING AND SOMEONE ARE GOING TO BE CUT. YOU BOUGHT IT YOU OWN IT!

Republicans in the House propose cutting $300 Billion from Medicare. How do they propose to implement the cuts? Several Republican Members of the House said they will push for raising the MEDICARE ELIGIBILITY AGE to 67 immediately, then raise Social Security Eligibility Age to 70 within a couple of years. One of the major reasons for Obamcare was people from 50 to 65 have real trouble finding any healthcare, much less affordable plans, raising the Medicare Age to 70 will be a disaster for US. LBJ signing Pres. Harry and Bess Truman up for Medicare in 1965. It was Harry's Idea and LBJ felt this was his way of saying Thanks, from US

Please re write your headline to remove the lie. There is no $300 billion cut to Medicare in the tax bill. There is no cut to Medicare of any amount in the tax bill. The Tax bill has nothing to do with Medicare. You lying lefties are beyond belief, totally just making up nonsense out of whole cloth.

(You probably need a history lesson also.

  • LBJ isn't signing Harry and Bess up for Medicare in the photo. He is signing his Medicare law. He later gave them the first Medicare cards, which was a just a joke of course because Harry and Bess already received almlost free healthcare for life from the government like all politicians
  • Harry did not propose Medicare, at least as we know it. JFK did that. Harry wanted the equivalent of what was later called Hillarycare. He couldn't even get any other Democrats to agree with him.
