The Wrigley  Estate  was made-up of something  like  6 homes as they would buy up nearby homes  when they went  up for sale.

DW and I live about 20 minutes from Lake Geneva. Take a walk up there at least a dozen times a year, doing some part of the lake. Never did the whole 20 miles. We usually do about 3 miles in one direction, then backtrack. After doing this for 30+ years, we've seen every part of the lake, and every house, 100+ times over. Still enjoy going up there, especially in the really hot days --- always seems to be a bit of a breeze by the lake.

And yes, we have an old brochure called 'Walk, Tak, Gawk'  that explains the historic homes. My favorite is the house where Amos and Andy sometimes did their radio program. I have seen photographs of them, on the porch of the house, standing around a microphone.

BTW, we think the Wrigley house (or what was) is very 'institutional' looking, even after having been remodeled, and definitely one of the least attractive homes on the lake.

Lake Geneva became the home of  Chicago's rich and famous after the  Chicago Fire. With  their  homes and businesses destroyed they built new homes in Lake Geneva. Later these became their summer homes.

Dave, I went there as a kid one time, visiting from Chicago.  To play in the water mostly.  Had no idea until you posted this that it was a playground for the rich.  Seem to be an awful lot of these playgrounds.

Our Main Stop The Wrigley Estates

If you stroll the streets of Lake Geneva you will regularly observe tourists pointing toward Stone Manor and referring to it as the Wrigley Mansion.  Despite what you might have heard…The Wrigley Mansion is not the big Stone Estate located on the Northeast shore of Geneva Bay. In all reality, there really is no Wrigley Mansion.

The Wrigley Estate is a collection of 6 properties that claim the most lake frontage on Lake Geneva.  Under William and P.K. Wrigley, the family built one of the most famous fortunes in the country.  At the time of his death in 1977, P.K. Wrigley’s fortune included the Wrigley Chewing Gum Company, The Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field, The Wrigley Building in downtown Chicago, significant real estate holdings in downtown Phoenix, Arizona and most of Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California.
