She’ll smile upon us,
grant us sunny wishes, so,
we make hay while the sun doth shine.

clouds between us and heaven.

It's a toasty 44* in Maine,  with rain falling and expected to remain in place for a bit.

I seem to have slept in, think all these days, nights of work are catching up with me.

To all the Mothers' out there enjoy your day.

Ugh, Nor'easter here...50 and very rainy in the Philly burbs. Met friends for breakfast and in places there was a lot of water that I kind of had to drive through. I hate doing that! Hoping it's better later this afternoon when I am going to a paint party. I've never been to one of these events before, but I've heard they are a lot of fun. Cat Happy

If I don't get back on here tomorrow, Happy Mother's Day to all you mama's out there. N.

It's 56* here in the mid-Atlantic, daytime high will be about 64 degrees.  The sky is cloudy and we're having showers this morning.  The sky is expected to stay overcast through the afternoon but the rain will move out of the area.  Winds will be NW 10-15 mph.  Humidity is 92%.

Mother's Day will be partly cloudy with only a 10% chance of rain and a high of 81 degrees!  Outdoor activities & celebrations are looking good!

Have a great Mother's Day weekend, everyone!

55* and sunny with rising damp coming to Maine for the weekend.

We're getting a Nor' Easter, for a change in the form of rain, rain and more rain.

Nothing like being awakened to a combine mowing the grass in the field next door.

Just grass, neighbor said it was either that or the skidder with a mowing deck dragged behind.

Rain over night. Hope it will dry out as the front lawn needs to be harvested again. Very busy weekend with 2 Mother's day outings starting with a breakfast out with family Saturday and a Mother's Day brunch on a cruise boat Sunday with friends. Madison has 4 lakes and we will be on the largest lake for a 2 hour cruise. Photo below was taken on a previous cruise a couple years ago.

Our area of the mid-Atlantic is cloudy today with the current temperature at 56*.  It's 11:15 now and the high today will only be about 60*…a pretty damp start to the weekend!  My annuals are looking quite perky, though!  As Martha Stewart would say, "it's a good thing!"  They're getting off to a great start and I can't be blue about that!  More rain forecast for today.  The wind is ENE @ 10 mph and the humidity is 88%.  Damp & humid…reminds me of @catwoman's comment about the probability of moss growing on one's north side if she stands still too long!  Still, when I look out the window, everything looks so fresh and green and there's raindrops on the roses!  Sorry, no eidelweiss!

Clouds like earrings hang,
Over yonder, overhead.
Pensile shady puffs.

Weeds pulled, volunteers
divided, transplanted. Now.
Farmer’s work hardly done.

Days punctuated
by songbird business, deals, needs.

Kingbird, swallows, finch.

Blue eggs seen in nest.
Sparrows surrender boxes to
Napolean Wrens.

Tea and herb gardens
found under feral flora
Hill set right again.

Mother Nature can be so accommodating at times!  Yesterday the raindrops were the kind that made one say, "Did you feel raindrops?" and wonder if you'd imagined it!  She saved the major event for overnight...another soaking rain that was welcomed by the inhabitants of the gardens, the fields and the woods.

Today the mid-Atlantic had a little light rain with cloudy skies during the morning.  The clouds are supposed to gear up for a shower this afternoon, complete with thunder...(what? no lightning?!?)  Chance of precip is 90%, the current temp (12:30 PM) is 62* and not expected to rise more than another degree or two.  Winds from the E at 6 mph and the humidity is a whopping 86%.
