@Frozenoem, fantastic about the skeleton!  I am sure ALL of us can't wait to see those pictures!

Dora is done.  One big pile of sog.  She really needs a burial... in the nearest trashcan, but nobody wants to touch her.  No telling what critters and creepy crawlies may be lurking.  I'll defer to the owners of the property to do the right thing (they started it, I just helped with some finishing touches and keeping Dora seasonal).  Although I was eyeballing the flagpole the other day wondering how I could take advantage of it.  Still got my cat skeletons, maybe I'll stick them running up the pole.  And haven't forgotten the orange pumpkin head with yellow straw hair. Woman Wink

Congrats to the Eagles, @catwoman500 .  I was surprised to see Jay Gruden still coaching at the last Redskins game, but as it turned out, it was his LAST game.  And I can't keep up with the merry-go-round of QBs they cycle through each week.  *Sighs*

Greetings,

Did anyone else see on the News, where they found a diamond inside of a diamond. ? The story is just great and so is nature. I think this is something special. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your day.

Sunny and cool here. If anyone can help me out with posting the details about the diamond I would appreciate it.

Thanks Nancy

@n566192l , I did see the story about the 2 diamonds. Extraordinary!

Did the method I told you for posting links not work?  I am coming at you from Android tablet, so let's try this again.  I tapped on Share icon for an article.  Options include message, mail, etc.  I chose Copy To Clipboard.  (Or, depending on Android version, it may say Copy Link or similar language.)  Next, I am here at Front Porch.  I long-press where to place link, like here and tap on Paste.

MsStretch,

I decided not to post my local drama on the Morning Roll Call. I did share the link through messaging.  Thanks for sharing the link about the diamonds.

Admit I'm lazy on posting links, still do copy/paste bit, easy on Windows or iOS iphone.

Might be capable of doing on Androids (don't know) only recover or hack the dang things.

Slap your digit down on address bar in browser, copy highlights, paste in new window for AARP or whatever web site. Then continue with life.

I tend to have many browsers on my phone, and pc. Google chrome allows multiple tabs for browser.I'm always testing the newest whiz bang browser or app for people/customers/friends.

@MsStretch

Thanx stretch I'm just not Android proficient, unless rooting .Kinda like macOS hacking at terminal mode.Or Windows from a command prompt.🤣

60* and sunny for the moment, firewood is gaining and last night I was happy had supplies on hand 33* dang.

Nice and toasty in house, burning old bills and firewood.

Depending upon moments of lucidity (new med's) May be back on Friday/Saturday, still feel like Iron Butterfly.

Which is something to add to my iTunes, as soon as I find the right hard drive.

Enjoy all

Good bye September hello October to everyone on the Front Porch on this first Tuesday in October 2019! Looking like a couple of days days with rain here in Madison. Our high temps will be around 70*. Hopefully my lawn will get mowed this week.

Hi Folks!

90 right now, feeling like 93! Tomorrow the high will be 63. Talk about a roller coaster! WOW!

Embarrassed to admit that I haven't been to the movies inabout 3 years, but HAD to go see Downton Abbey. So yesterday I took myself to the theater and I felt so out of it...Now when you buy your ticket you have to choose your seat by looking at a little digital screen (like a tablet) that shows the seating chart. OMG, it was so strange. Maybe the rest of you are used to that since you probably see more movies than I do. Plus, the senior matinee price is $10!

I'm thinking that if I was going to meet friends to see a movie we would have to all arrive together or wait until everyone got there to buy seats together. We usually just meet inside the theater where our movie is and find seats together...it never mattered when we all arrived. Now if we did that we'd be sitting all over the place. The times they are a'changin.'

Anyway, the movie was wonderful. I'd see it again! N.

Catwoman500,

I know exactly what you mean about going to the movies 😂. I thought taking a small group of veterans to the movies would be fun. They would be out of the heat and bugs for a while. Easy right, some thing here in New Jersey. Just glad we got there early, boy did we need help.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your day 😊♥️

I haven't posted in a while because I hate to keep saying the same thing over and over again, but I'm ready to shout to the Universe that I'm sick of Summrer and ready for it to be Fall.

It's supposed to be 100 again today and the 10th straight day of record-breaking temperatures in middle Georgia.  Somehow the message didn't get through that it is now October and we are not supposed to be wearing flip-flops and short shorts to the beginning of the Georgia National Fair that begins today.

@PattyDiane , Well, we haven't had 10 days of record breakers, but we sure broke a lot of temp records yesterday.

Seems so weird to have had to use the AC yesterday for the first time in weeks, (it was 92) and today the guys come to do my heater maintenance check! I'm good with that since the temps are not going out of the 60's today! Wild! N.

51* and sunny with white particulate matter in forecast for tonight in higher elevations or 30 minutes up the road.

If you dislike summer move to Maine and escape the heat of more temperate climes.

I actually turned the furnace up to 45* last night but, started a fire in the Woodstove around 46*.

@DaveMcK

I'm personally opting for frosts to kill any over abundance of weeds in the side yard. Then I'll mulch them, it's just easier.

Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch on this last Friday of September 2019! Hoping everyone has a great weekend and may your favorite teams.

Golfing is officially over for me as we had our end of the season luncheon Wednesday.

We are meeting with a realtor to see what is needed to be done before we put our house up for sale next Spring. We are looking at moving into a condo early next summer.  The yard work and snow removal is getting to be to much.

Good Morning Porch Peeps,

Quite chilly here in the burbs, but going close to 80 again. It started off in the 50's, now in the 60's, but my feet are cold! Cat LOL Loving this weather and all the sun. We dod have a brief shower yesterday

Lawn guys came yesterday to mow, but are back again now to tame the jungle that overtook the property this summer. A second truck just arrived, so they must have had to call in reinforcements! That's on them...if they kept up with it during the summer,the job wouldn't be so big now. Duh!

Hope everyone is happy and healthy. Going to try to post a pic, but it probably won't load. I'll keep trying until maybe magically the photo ability will return. N.

PS...nope no photos loading for me.

Morning 63* and sunny temps will rise to 70's. The leaves are turning, unlike last year.👍

@catwoman500

It has to be an AARP issue, I had to change browsers on my iPhone to get this little ditty out.

I knew there was a reason I have 8 browsers on phone, stuff just happens.

@DaveMcK

Lotsa luck with realtor and repairs, trying to find roofer up here during hunting/fishing season is an impossibilty.

My go to general contractor has retired to teach at the vocational school so, he can guide during summers.

Time to call the blighters at insurance company, think I'm looking forward to rentals, HOA's just don't thrill me.

Good Sunday morning with sun and temp of 66* will be rising later.

Have been watching the less than delightful weather in MT, etc. And suddenly pleased snowblower was tuned up and broken bits replaced.

Admit it had no problem starting at -35* but, when belts broke at 6-7 feet of white stuff I gave up.

Looking forward to mulching at the moment, subject to change, it's autumn in New England.

Was going to post picture of yesterday's color but, not happening.

It has to be AARP problem, I can select a picture and upload it, caption it, and try to scroll up to post with no icons to return to message.

Once more out to garage, ethanol has struck, time to drain some chainsaws, have 3 cords to play with and move?

Gosh I love this town, neighbor heard the overnight low temp of 30* and my oldest cord appeared in garage.🤣

ps @n566192l

I expect a sterling review of pkg🤣.

Frozen,

I have been having more technical problems then normal.

First I went to UPS on Saturday, just to send out boxes. The staff informs me they aren't able to do that do to ....,

2nd. I can't send PM through AARP and the feedback thing keeps popping up on AARP.

Long story short, I am in for the night. Long day, picking up vegetables and fruits and other stuff for the weekly share..

The bottle you sent me is chilled and I can't wait to enjoy one of your favs. I will update you as soon as I taste the nectar of the gods.

Just a beautiful day and evening. Last night several churches and other groups held the second annual box night at Fort Monmouth. To bring awareness to the homeless population in New Jersey. People slept in boxes, makeshift shelters for the evening. I have been so tired 😴 lately, I completely forgot about the event as I drove through Fort Monmouth. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your evening..... Nancy

The feedback thing is just asking if your loving your AARP experience, and for comments on how they're doing.

I filled one out last week, and added a thank you for breaking- umm, fixing?? Picture updating.

For PM's check out if your logged in, on AARP. User name and password, you said you changed it at one point with AARP's assistance, your password.

With the latest timely update of every Operating System on every device may take more updates to make everything work as advertised - painlessly.

That means computers, cellphones and pads. I spent a couple of days recalibrating monitors for friends, screwed over by updates.

Presently enjoying the cleaning of my chimney, burning a log to do it. Coffee has Bailey's for relief.

Tomorrow may be available and will call, although Stretch is my go to for Android assistance, we both shared the tech guru hat on another site. Thankfully she's left the dark side and become an iPhone user.🤣And Win10 to boot-dang😇.

UPS I don't know if I can assist, they just tend to pickup when I call. Nearest ups store is an hour away, country vs city rules. Maybe explore non-profit status for pickups from Monmouth warehouse?

@MsStretch

You're needed perhaps to iron out an Android. Back to ugh monitor calibration and Murphy Brown binging, cleaning out my DVR.

Frozen,

Well, I am having a hard time with AARP. The gremlins you referred to last week, have come to New Jersey.  At least they must be in my phone. I'm having great difficulty with everything AARP.  Since I have never been able to post a picture on the site, remember that is on my end. But everything else is just not the same. Last night, I reached out to another AARP member, about the new rewards program. She happened to notice that the new rewards program was in Beta testing. So, we will see if I can figure out how to work the sites on AARP.

Cloudy and 65* in Shrewsbury TWP.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your day 😊♥️

Perhaps Stretch can assist you with Android issues, for the moment it's sit in the corner and don't move for me.

World is spinning, it's really bad today, and I'm still a month out from specialist 1, specialist 2 another month.

Will call whenever world settles.

@catwoman500

no pictures for me, tried on Brave browser last night.

I did put out a wtheck call to AARP last night in a PM, guess they're working in background.

I'm thinking your pictures work because they are links to a different website vs a direct upload from your device.

Ok figured that out - dark mode on iPhone doesn't play nicely with AARP. Now, back to the corner.

@Frozenoem ...hope you have stopped the spin.

And nope, every photo or picture I load on here has been saved to my picture file on my computer, so it's a direct load from computer, and sometimes they load here and sometimes they don't. I haven't the foggiest how to even try to load a photo from my phone. I used to think Ebay sales were a crapshoot...some weeks good, some weeks bad, but this picture loading is more hit or miss than my sales! Cat LOL At least I have no trouble loading my photos to Ebay!

Feel better soon!

@MsStretch ...never thought about freezing the creamer things. Good idea.

Finally solved my issue with iPhone pix uploads.

Dark mode kept me from seeing the done button to load pix to AARP and return to message.👍

Changed setting and fixed it.Sometimes it's just as simple as remembering what that last setting change did and to what.

@n566192l, I went to the AARP site on my Android tablet and with the default Chrome browser (Google, go figure), I was able to duplicate that 'arrow' pop-up, but it appeared as a small red square at lower left.  Then (don't know if I inadvertantly swiped it or it was pre-ordained by the AARP gods), got the survey pop-up and closed it.  It didn't come back to bug me again, although the little red square remained.  Sent you message.  @Frozenoem  is the one who turned me on to Brave.

@Frozenoem, I checked and double-checked and triple-checked, but no HDMI or DVI.  Monitor is older than I remember (actually think I had it with XP, yikes!).  Have plenty of assorted cables on hand.  Only reason I didn't want to update now is that current is a 16" display which fits perfectly in my tiny workspace under this sloping ceiling, but would eventually like to go bigger and better.  Ended up going to 24" (smallest I could find) and obviously better, but trying to maximize spaces in little houses don't call for super-duper displays.  (I know.  I know.  Why don't I just go laptop. Haha.)

@catwoman500, I am a big fan of the flavored creamers, ID over Coffeemate, and always look forward to the seasonal flavors.  ID came out with new one this year -- French Toast Swirl.  I buy and freeze enough to last me all year.  They also work great in iced coffee.  No need to buy those expensive bottles/cans in store.

Good Morning, Everyone,

It finally feels like fall here after some almost AC days! Right now it's cloudy and 66 and not going much higher, but by Wednesday they are expecting temps in the 90's!!!!!! CRAZY!

Yesterday I picked up some pumpkin spice coffee creamer and tried it. Not bad. I am a fan of unflavored coffee, but I do like some flavors. I just wish they (deja vu...I swear I said this before) would have flavored coffee in the dark roast/bold coffees. Most flavored coffees taste like dishwater...way too mild for me.

Hope everyone has a lovely week! All the tech talk has my head spinning....I can't deal with that. Cat LOL N.

@Frozenoem, I may be an iPhone user, but still have an Android tablet. Woman Wink

My go-to browser (Opera) does not play well with AARP at all.  Computer or device.  On computer, get that pesky 'entity too large' like @catwoman500.  Use Firefox for AARP on computer and Brave on iPhone.  Brave seems fastest with no pop-ups and speaking of...@n566192l , that might eliminate the feedback pop-up, since I don't get it on iPhone with the Brave browser.  Will try the Samsung Tab (Android) and get back to you.

Speaking of Win10 and monitors, hate to say it, but right now I am coming at you from old Win7 computer.  Unboxed the tower, ext. HD copied and standing by for file transfer, cheat sheet in hand, and got stopped cold.  My monitor (which I planned on updating later, since it suits me fine right now) only has VGA connection which tower does not.  I swear I thought it had HDMI, but nope.  I guess this monitor is older than I thought.  VGA going route of RCA cables.  New monitor here Tuesday.  And we try this again.

If you thinks it's HDMI, check beside the VGA cable entry point.

The brilliance of flat screen monitor makers around 6 years back , started coming with choice of VGA, HDMI, or DVI.

With separate cables for whatever owner decided to use.Or whatever type of display adaptor installed in the case.

If lucky you may have an either or cable somewhere.Walmart/Radio Shack we, still have one of them👍, sells them for around $15 or less.Think I bought one for 25 that I use on calls to plug into led/lcd tv when monitor bites the farm (25 foot).

Thanks for any Android assistance.
