@Spring2025 , Mister is bringing you a gift! Most sources I have read agree that the predatory instinct in cats, even domesticated and well-fed cats, is strong. Since Mister views you as part of his social group, he is bringing you a live critter to teach you to hunt, since in their minds, humans suck at it. A dead critter is providing for you, bringing you food. Cats will often bring their prey to a place they are comfortable at.
Stellar (Giorgio's brother) was the hunter of the family. But he didn't like to share. He would parade around proudly with his prey in his mouth and then, he would hog it all to himself, although I did once observe him drop a live mouse in front of his mother (Willie Mae) and the chase was on, including me who was actually trying to give the mouse a second chance. Willie Mae and Giorgio don't seem to be that much into stalking and hunting. They will go after a critter they see, but I think it's mostly for the chase.

@Spring2025 , I get the kids' food from Chewy. Used to get it from Walmart or Petsmart, but when they got picky and during Covid and there was a shortage of certain cat foods, went to Chewy. Kids love Friskies shreds, but can take or mostly leave the poultry or beef varieties. I am on auto-ship. I don't get it as often since it's only Willie Mae and Giorgio now. My own sweet Delilah (indoor) and Stellar and Armani and BUC are now only precious memories. They eat a variety of dry food and love the crunchy treats, not so much the chewy ones like Temptations. And to think when I first discovered a feral mama and her two babies living under my deck, they were ecstatic over the stinky cheapie DG-brand food I got them. Their tastes have definitely refined over the years. 😼🙄
Yes, I did go on an adventure in Shenandoah NP yesterday. We returned to an old cemetery that we visited over twenty years ago! The reason for the return was I had an old picture of an inscribed fieldstone that we found then, and no one else had seen or found it nor was it documented in the updated cemetery files of the NPS archives (although I was informed that my picture was added to the file with the year found -- 2005). So we were determined to find it again. Sadly, we did not. Probably covered over, trees might have fallen on it, greenbriar might have made it inaccessible (not that we didn't try, got plenty of scratches to confirm and a couple of new tears in my pants). We did discover a few new fieldstones in a corner that we hadn't seen before, none of them inscribed. So not a total loss and it was a good day for a walk in the Park.

So we have a celebrity in the house!!! Can I have your autograph @MsStretch /lol. I will check out Chewy - thanks. I am his OPTION when Roz does NOT have any LEFTOVERS from her cat Sweetie. By the way, been meaning to ask and keep forgetting. Have any of your furbabies bought you dead/alive critters? I nearly evicted Mister LAST year May when I inherited him. Ms. G had warned me. Anyway, 1st gift was an alive Chipmunk in his mouth. 😭 I was leaving my door ajar, if you remember. IN comes my boy with it in his mouth. But it escaped as he was coming in and ran to my utility closet by door. It was a DAY AND NIGHT trying to get it OUTSIDE and Mister away from it. Poor thing. 2nd and LAST gift was a DEAD one on my porch step. After fussing with him AGAIN, swept it off my step. 🤮 Lol, NO more gifts = got my message.

@Spring2025 Will let you all know about Marlow Murder Club when I find out.
@Spring2025, @LaDolceVita Not sure if either of you watched Season One of Marie Antionette, but season 2 starts Sunday. I really enjoyed the first season.
Marie Antoinette, season two Sunday, March 23 | 10 p.m. on WHYY-TV In season two of this acclaimed series, Marie Antoinette and Louis prove to be compassionate and capable rulers, embracing modern ideas that prioritize rewarding talent over inherited privilege. However, enemies lurk in every corner, even within the halls of Versailles and disastrous consequences loom as the revolt rumbles on. Binge the entire new season the night of the premiere or catch up on the first one on-demand with WHYY Passport. |

WRONG END. ☹
Papaw @papawofboo , I should have READ the bulb "instructions" BEFORE planting them today. Lol, I just threw them into holes. NO telling IF correct end is pointing UP. 🤔 I should dig them up to check. Maybe tomorrow... Lesson learn't. Hope you find bulbs are your local Dollar Tree(s). Oh, got a Hummingbird Feeder at Dollar Tree. 1st timer. Will MIX the nectar pouch in April. Now I DID read that. 👍

Don't fool with digging them up, Mother Nature will correct the problem just may take a little longer. Good luck on feeder. I never saw a hummingbird, so I did away with mine. Later in the summer a hummingbird showed up at one of my flowers, scared the p out of me. Them things move fast.

@catwoman500 Thanks for "Ms Austen", will keep an eye out, none of my emails from PBS have mentioned it. @Spring2025 Sounds like you are having fun with your gardening. My hubby does all the gardening and I just listen to his troubles. We grow mostly veggies. BTW the trumpet vine from last year are still alive.

Interesting @LaDolceVita - did it do well in your winter in Georgia? Or died away and NOW growing back for spring.
Lol, I am SO GLAD @catwoman500 posted about PBS as I NO longer get their emails. ☹
@MsStretch , where do you buy the kids' food? Just came from my regular Dollar Tree for my weekly get Mister food. Asked manager what is going on? Seems like this store with nice HUGE packs of cat food are NOW like the OTHER Dollar Trees = either NO cat food or ONLY the small packs of Temptations. Now like with Walmart's Friskies, he ALSO luvs Temptations. But the Pounce and 9lives packs are HUGE. Lol, he eats the Temptations in 1 sitting. 😱 Tiny packs!!! Now he really NEEDS a job IF I have to return to Walmart Friskies. He is eating better than me when I do./lol 🤣😂

🌷 Papa @papawofboo , I did find 2 packs of BULBS at Dollar Tree today. Each $1.25 pack had 3 seeds (or whatever they are called). 📸 Picture Attached. *** Have YOU grown these? 🤔 Hmmm, wonder IF they will return like your bulbs have for 5 years. Lol, now to hope Mister 🐈 does NOT dig them up. 🤔

I love those flowers but never had much luck with them. They need to be planted next to a fence or wall so they can be tied up. Mine always got top heavy and fell over. Don't know if I wasn't planting them deep enough or what. If they are at these DT I will be trying my luck again.
Good luck..............Papaw

I love these! They always remind me of my grandmother’s cottage garden!
i agree that they tend to tilt if not supported….like peonies do when it rains!
…..One of the things I enjoy the most about retirement is having more time to putter around in my garden! 🌸

Good Morning!
In the past, I only grew basil, tomatoes, and, of course, catnip 😺 from seed. This year, I am trying to grow coneflowers in that manner. Last year, as I was selecting three coneflowers in the Home Depot Garden Center, a kind woman came up to me and shared that I could save quite a bit of money growing them from seed.
….so, I’ve started them indoors, and am keeping my fingers crossed.

🌷 Thanks Papaw @papawofboo , I DO have a wall in the area I want to put the bulbs. Hmmm, may INSERT a fence or pole for them to use IF they work out. Thanks for the feedback. 👍 Your PM mentioned squirrels. Lol, I think I will dig up my 6 bulbs and store them when they die down (NOT sure if I am using correct term). Hmmm, picked up a pack of 10 MARKERS too at Dollar Tree. Thinking of using 6 to mark where bulbs are. Guess what? They had 4 seed packs for $1.25 TOTAL, so I picked up Carrots, Thyme and two flower. NO big deal IF none make it. Have a HANGING pot I want to put a "hanging" plant in. In the past in Florida I would buy plants. Yes, LAZY way. Here in Virginia = seeds ONLY. When I return to Florida I am so NOT gardening outside. Seems since leaving Florida in 2015 ALLIGATORS have taken over. 😱

We are getting up to the high 60s in my neck of VA, but tomorrow will be warmer. Planning on an SNP adventure for tomorrow. 🚶 It will be nice to not have to wear 1 million layers. 🥶🧤🧣
Furkids are definitely getting friskier and loving flip-flops/rollovers in the sun. Love their bellies rubbed. Just gotta remember the Willie Mae stick or risk a shredded hand.

I find DIFFERENT stores have DIFFERENT selections. @LaDolceVita , hope you and hubbie are well. @catwoman500 , I need to try Irish Coffee. Lol, is it green. Just joking. And @MsStretch , luv to the kids. 🐈💛🐈
