Movies for Grownups

DH and I attended an AARP Movies for Grownups last night and want to say Thanks, AARP! The selection was great (Hidden Figures: you need to see this film!) yet the thing that pleased us equally was this: in a capacity crowd of seniors there were no fussing babies; there were no loud conversations during the movie; we spied not one text messaging session and heard not one phone call. And at the end, 80% of the attendees respectfully sat and read the credits, then managed to file out of the theatre without creating traffic jams or stepping on toes.

Due to unpleasant to annoying behavior endured at moviehouses in recent years, we had all but stopped going to the theatre, preferring to view films in the peaceful comfort of  home, but this was a truly enjoyable break from our new norm.
