STOP SENDING RENEWAL NOTICES AND CARDS WHEN I'M SET FOR AUTO PAY

Seriously, stop.  This is a huge waste of your resources and makes me wonder why I'm giving you money to waste.  ACLU does the same stupid thing. I'm not giving you money to have you spend 95% of it to try to get me to give you more money.  Stop it or lose me forever.

Your move.

My Dad handed me a reminder renewal notice asking me why I hadn’t paid his renewal. I researched and saw that I paid his renewal in February 2024. This is October of 2024 and he’s receiving reminder notices because he hasn’t paid his renewal yet?  There is no membership expiration date on the renewal letter.  I think this is terrible business practices by AARP to get more money. Taking advantage of Senior Citizens is not cool AARP!!

@CliffordL912405 We appreciate your dad's membership! Thank you for sharing your experience, I am terribly sorry for any frustration this has caused. AARP sends renewal notices to accounts that expire within 6 months. Our hope is that our members are able to renew before experiencing any interruption in their membership, including receipt of AARP The Magazine or their AARP Bulletin. Plus, some members have their life insurance, car insurance and more linked to their AARP membership, and it could be detrimental for it to lapse. If your dad would prefer to receive fewer mailings, he may be interested in signing up for Automatic Renewal, which automatically renews memberships annually. I agree, it's getting pretty frustrating.  All we can do is stay on top of our elder family member's finances as much as possible.

I took the 5 years for $45 deal and did not sign up for auto renewal because I don't see the point. I hate the nagging about it but have learned to ignore it.

I also hate paying for membership and still having to constantly deal with ads. Sometimes I end up just giving up on what I would like to in the app because the ads are so ubiquitous.

I can't figure out how to ask a question here.  Very annoying. I'm trying to figure out why everything I want to save to my favorites doesn't have the "Add To Favorites" option on the page.   Very annoying, I'm so picky that when I do find something I want to go back to I can't save it.
