Renewal by Gift Card

I see I have enough points in Wyndham Rewards to get a one year AARP renewal gift card.  I don't see an option to pay for a renewal with a gift card on the renewal screen.  Can these cards actually be used to renew my (actually my wife's membership with me added) membership?  How?  I haven't ordered the card yet so I don't know if there is a number or something else on the card that has to be entered somewhere.  Thanks.
