@LynR371024 AARP does not send scam emails. If you're receiving AARP emails that you would like to have stopped, I invite you to check out our helpful article here: https://help.aarp.org/s/article/how-do-i-unsubscribe-from-aarp-email

If you are receiving scam emails to your spam folder not being sent by AARP, you may be interested in reporting these to the AARP Fraud Watch Network for guidance. Our staff and volunteers can provide the information you need to protect yourself and your family. Additionally, your call helps AARP and our federal, state, and community partners spot scam trends and respond to emerging threats. I invite you to call our toll-free AARP Fraud Watch Network Helpline at 877-908-3360

Ridiculous.  AARP creates the problem then advises how much they care and can help.   Only a matter of time until AARP is linked elderly being bilked by the information sold to make a profit.

They dont send out scam mail but they do share information with other companies.  Some of which do scam older people.  For example the Jamacain scammers obtain phone/address lists from companies targeting older people.  In any case when express consent is not given to sell off members personal information I am shocked that the practice hasn't resulted in a class action lawsuit.

The remedy to apply to someone who has to take specific action is ridiculous.  There should just be a button option that people can opt out of the sale of their information.  The added hurdle is just a scheme to make it difficult to opt out.
