Is it true that AARP donates to the Democratic Party?  And if so do they donate to the Republican Party?

Well from what I read in the opensecrets.org, AARP employees or so called "members" donated over $160,225.00 to the democratic party.  For that reason I will not be renewing my AARP membership.  I will be looking elsewhere.

@jg4906  No, it is not true. AARP is strictly non-partisan and always has been. We never endorse or donate to candidates, political parties or political action committees. There are independent websites, not affiliated with AARP, that thoroughly refute these claims. Here is one example from Check Your Fact, http://bit.ly/2Fut3L0?cmp=SOC-MCO-BL.
