Canadian trying to use AARP

I have a home in Canada and the United States.  I joined up after seeing it was for use in USA , Canada and Mexico. I twas surprised to discover that only USA cell numbers could be used. I can not get a mobile app of account with my Canadian cell number? Is there a work around?

But my Canadian money was accepted...I sure hope I can benefit from what I paid for. I keep getting emails telling me I have unsubscribed to newsletters when I wanted to subscribe.
