AARP is WASTING (not only) TOO MUCH MONEY

AARP (so far) has mailed (by the USPS to me ~
Four (4) renewal notices ~ which have included
4½ Sets of New/Replacement AARP-Cards.
WHAT A WASTE.
Waste of Money and Resources.

I would suggest/say: STOP ... "IT".

@CalifAEN Hi there, thank you for being in our family! I checked on your membership and since you just renewed and opted in for automatic renewal, you can expect those renewal notices to come to a stop. Pre-printed mailings will fully stop being delivered to your mailbox within 4-6 weeks. I'm always here to help, please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything I can do!

Why would we consent to auto-renewal when the deal gets better if we wait?  The last time I renewed, I did so for two years, and started getting renewal notices before the end of year 1. I got notices every 3-4 weeks -- I saved them all until I actually renewed 6 weeks before my membership expired, and the stack was almost 2" high. It's wasteful of AARP and the earth's resources, and creates a shredding chore for me.

It also appears that AARP is sending out renewals well in advance of when the renewal is due. This is a predatory practice trying to get the elderly to renew way earlier than necessary. I just received my second notice and my cards are good through February 2024.

@deborahpatterson Hi Deborah, I can help. AARP sends renewal notices to accounts that expire within 6 months and up to 3 months after expiration. Our hope is that our members are able to renew before experiencing any interruption in their membership, including receipt of AARP The Magazine or their AARP Bulletin. Plus, some members have their life insurance, car insurance and more linked to their AARP membership, and it could be detrimental for it to lapse. If you would prefer to receive fewer mailings, you may be interested in signing up for Automatic Renewal, which automatically renews memberships annually. Hello ...

I hope "all is well" ...
or at least "well enough" o_0
Seems that mabye ... "you"/AARP (have) MISSED the POINT ... of what I posted ~

I mean(t) STOP WASTING SO MUCH (not only) MONEY; e.g.
take "what I experienced" ... and multiply that by
TENS or HUNDREDS of THOUSANDs ~
That is the SCALE of WHAT AARP is WASTING !

I mean(t) STOP IT ... OVERALL / WITH EVERYONE.

Capisce ?
