some of these replys state the price...which is fine. What I'm asking is-is that price for just 1 toothe or for a section, or the whole upper/lower plate. They don't say...and I really need to know for my budget-it's really tight. Thank you for your time. Smiley Happy

It is true that implant prices varies widely between the states and even within the city. It is very important that you shop around. Also, it's worth it to look for Medicare certified oral surgeon for your eligibility for Medicare to subsidize your case based on medical necessity. If you are eligible, they will pay almost entire amount of implant cost. If that's the case, you could get implant and crown at more than 50% less. Reimbusement rate for Medicare is different state to state so I recommend check with your local Medicare certified oral surgeon.

Well, I may just travel to get a dental implant. The cost is rediculous and there is little to no compensation on any plan I've seen so far unless you wait for a year. Might as well travel and enjoy your life rather than stay put and pay the rates here. Thanks for the idea!

One local dentist estimated $3800 for an implant, abutment and crown recently. A perio specialist who did my implant a few years ago charged $3500 for extraction, implant and abutment. My regular dentist charged $1100 for the crown. So the total for that implant 3 years ago was $4600. Apparently prices vary widely.

I just got an estimate from an oral surgeon to remove one tooth, clean out the infection from it and the last extraction, add three bone grafts, later put in two posts, about $6000.

This does not include the dentist building the prosthesis.
Out of pocket except for $2000. I can wait on some of it until 2016 so that we can increase our medical withholding.....
