Because my wife and I are thankfully healthy and only typically visit our primary doctors for annual wellness exams which are 100% covered and take few prescription drugs, we normally opt for a higher deductible/lower premium plan with an HSA. However, I will in all probability have major surgery on my hip in 2021 and would like to ask how I should compare our 2021 plan choices to select the best one from a perspective of total out of pocket expense we will have to pay. We have three choices that offer a HSA as follows:
Annual Premium Rewards* Cost of Coverage Annual In-Network Deductible**
Plan 1 7181.08 1200.00 5981.08 1400.00/2800.00
Plan 2 5281.84 1200.00 4081.84 2800.00/5600.00
Plan 3 4169.26 1200.00 2969.26 3300.00/6600.00
* Incentive rewards are a premium credit for meeting certain biometric screening values and lifestyle goals such as tobacco free etc..
** Individual/Family
