6 month delay in Medicare Supplimental Plan N DME coverage??

I have a new AARP Supplemental plan N for 2024 to help cover the 20% remaining charge for my insulin pump supplies and insulin after the 80% coverage from Medicare Part B DME. I was originally told this would cover it. Now UNC customer service is saying there will be a 6 month delay for that coverage to start for me. The DME coverage is the main reason I got the medigap supplemental plan N, now I find out it won't start for another 6 months. I can't get an explanation for it. I tried calling Medicare itself but since it's a different insurance company they could offer no help. I have a call into my broker who worked with me to  choose this plan, I'm waiting for a return call.

I believe that if you switch plans, even though you passed medical underwriting, they can still deny payment for up to 6 months for pre existing conditions.
