Rain is always a welcome event during the heat of summer. But not hurricanes or devastating storms. Can anyone understand Mother Nature's intention?

I am getting closer in my numbers. I thought I was going to get some rain, the wind came up sudden and it got dark, but now it is calm and sunny.
