Isn't that kind of an age-ist question?

I don't know or really care what other people think! When I retired I wanted to be comfortable and feeling comfortable is a personal choice. I am lucky enough to live in a place where the weather is nice and plenty of sunshine most of the year so I wear shorts, tee shirt and flip flops or sandles most of the time and when it gets cooler, I wear training pants with elastic waist band or levis with slip on casual shoes. It's our choice and as long as we're comfortable, that's what's important. I just figure if someone doesn't like it, that's their problem, not mine!

By the age of 80 you should wear whatever you feel like wearing, as long as it fits well!  Didn’t you all watch ten years of What Not To Wear?  It’s all about the fit😉

I'm 80 & I wear Jeans. They look good if they fit well. I think wearing Jeans looks much better than wearing skimpy clothes.

I am 75 and my hair is black (Native American hertiage plus English and French), but I have been a blond since the age of 21.

My dear Mother was a hairdresser for several years, until she turned 70 I believe...and I have been Blond, Red, Frosted before it was referred to as "highlites" but Blond is "it".

I have no grey so my current hairdresser reall has no chanenge there. I will stay Blond till the day I die.

Never had any face work done but other than sun spots from too much sun as a teen, my skin is good. I use my Clairosnic daily, and several Estee' producks for face and eyes.

As for wearing Denim Jeans? You bet your boody I do!  If they fit well, not too tight, not to baggy.....why not? I would rather see jeans that thoes terrible looking Yoga or stretchy pants that ride your crack and give you a camel toe in front. Jusy saying.Cat Wink

When I was in the Navy, we had to wear uniforms all the time. When we got on Liberty, I was glad to "put on my civies". Well, there might be a civilian equivilant to that. After work, you take off your "work clothes". After retirement, you take off your "workING clothes". Stereotypes tend to become less important (or not). Who really knows what a (stereo)typical 80 year-old is? All I know, is that whatever age you are, you still have to live your own life and muddle thru reality (whatever that is). Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

That's the right age to wear jeans!  If you have worn them to be casual all  your life, why would 80 change that?  My mother-in-law who was Texan, wore her jeans and boots, until she was 90,  through her 80's we would travel around and she would pack 3 or 4 pair of jeans all alike, with her red custom-made boots for an overnight road trip.  She was known in Dallas by the "lady who wore the custom red western boots".  She owre her western wear and loved to go and listen to live music "Delta Blues", and I enjoyed being her driver and escort.  Very smart, intelligent and very much a lady of Uptown Dallas.   Yes to answer your question, her closet only had jeans about 30 pair nicely dry-cleaned.

  • I hope to die many years from now, wearing a comfortable pair of jeans and a favorite t-shirt with whatever cause I currently support proudly mentioned on the shirt.

The most important thing isn't what you choose to wear but that you get to make the choice at whatever age you are!!!
