THE SUNSHINE PROTECTION ACT

Had a hard time trying to find the right board for this subject - guess here is as good as any -

THE SUNSHINE PROTECTION ACT passed in the Senate today - passed by unanimous consent - now on the House for passage, hopefully, and then on to the President to sign.

The legislation makes Daylight Savings Time the official time set of the USA.

If it passes, it will become effective in 2023.

Axios 03/15/2022 - Senate passes bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent

"No more dark afternoons in the winter. No more losing an hour of sleep every spring. We want more sunshine during our most productive waking hours", Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wa.) said on the Senate floor after the passage of the bill.

I prefer it to permanent for Standard Time.  At where I am, and many other places, it will be dark for half the morning during the winter months; especially December & January.
