Rate Increases for United Healtcare

Is anyone else as irritated as I am about another 9.7% rate increase again this year?  They raised it last year by the same amount!

You would probably get more responses if your post was on this community's Medicare and Insurance board rather than this board.

Moderators might move it - but maybe not.

What kind of policy are you talking about ?  It sounds like you maybe talking about a Medicare Supplimental (Medicare Medigap) policy.

If so, what type of rating mechanism does the policy use ?

There are (3) methods that can be used

• community rated
• attained age rated
• issue age ratedd

Another thing that might be coming into play is whether or not the UHC Medigap policy which you chose began with giving you a discount in the beginning years and now that has expired.

If it is not a Medicare Supplimental (Medigap) policy that you are talking about, give details on the type category of the health insurance and what state you have the policy.
