One of my closest friends was born in Ohio. One day he asked me if I knew what a Buckeye is. I said the usual, an inedible nut from a tree, some people carry them in their pockets for good luck, etc. He said: "No, that ain't it. A person born in Ohio is a Buckeye, and a Buckeye is a useless nut!" (I was joking!)
It is odd the nicknames given to the people in states. A Tennessean is a Ridge-runner, a Geogrian is a Cracker, an Indianan is a Hoosier, etc. Whatever yall are called, I hope you find some new friends!
