It's all in how you say it....

I got out of my car in a supermarket parking lot the other day without a mask.  A lady called to me, "Do you need a mask?  I have an extra if you do."

How much nicer than, "Where's your mask?" or "Put on a mask!"

I had forgotten my mask in the car.  I thanked the nice lady for the reminder, went back, put on my mask, and went on my way, admiring her choice of words.

I still think of how kind and tactful her words were, and how my reaction ended up matching hers.

Words matter....
