How to move a loved one into assisted living when it's time ....

I wanted to share this with the community because my experience is a lesson learned and one that can be a tremendous help to other adult children of aging parents. I had a terrible crisis with my dad.

When you have to make the difficult decision to move your parent or loved one into an assisted living community, there's so much to do and it's completely overwhelming, especially if family members are out of the area and everyone is too stressed to know where to start, or you are carrying the responsibility on your own as I was. How do you begin to get rid of all the stuff that has accumulated in the house for decades? is any of this 'junk' worth anything? who is going to sell it? how do I pack all of it? where to donate? what to donate? who will paint the house? who will sell the house? and who will pay for all of this until the house sells? I learned about Dovetail Support Services, based in Wilmington, MA and as a result of my amazing and life-changing experience, I now work for the company as a senior's real estate specialist, realtor, and transition specialist. I'm not trying to sound like an advertisement - I am here as a resource, North of Boston and Southern, NH. I had no help with my father and it was devasting to me. I want to help others from experiencing the same.
