Fix Congress&Protect Social Security,and Medicare

Congress persons have the own retirement program, the "Congressional Retirement Fund".and receive once elected to Congress their salary for LIFE. Congress people are the only employees who can vote themselves a pay raise. House and senate members salary is $174,000 for Life, House Speaker, $223,000, Majority/Minority Leaders, $193,00 for LIFE respectively. This just stupid. Further, they have their own Health Care program.

Want to protect Social Security,& Medicare Here how to start:

1. Congress collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when there out of office.

2. Congress [past &future] participate in Social Security. All money in the Congressional Retirement fund must immediately move to Social Security. All future funds flow into Social Security System. Congress participates with the American people their sworn to serve in the program Congress created.

3.Congress can no longer vote themeselves a pay raise.Congressional pay will rise by the lower of 3% or the Consumer Price Index [CPI]

4. Congress loses their current Health Care Program and particpates in the same health care systems the American People or other Federal Workers particpate in.

5. Congress must equally abide by the same laws they impose on the American people they were elected to serve. If its good for us why should Congress be excempt.

6. Anytime Congress permits a deficit of more than 3% of GDP,all seating Members of Congress are ineligible for re-election.Congress does not work for the Republican or Democratic parties they work for all the American people. And we say " If you do not do your job and work together for the people, your fired"

If you agree send a letter to your Congress person and demand they sponsor legislation to support the FIX.

Serving in Congress is not a career. The country was founded on the basis of citizen legislators who met periodically to serve the People and then went back home and back to their jobs, not some privledged elite serving those who contributed to their election and re-election campaigns. That is why it is called Public Service
