Re: Do I know someone who is lonely

There probably are some senior groups  your area, @w182036w. Have you googled?  Sometimes your county/city will have senior groups/activities or may have referrals to groups.. Are there any book clubs or other clubs in your neighborhood? Are there any uber or lift transportation available in your area (google it) so you may get out on your own..     I think often uber and lift may be reasonably priced.  If it is any consolation, many seniors are also aging alone & kids & family are too "busy" or consider it "too much trouble" to include "seniors" in their social activities..sad but true..  Are you on Facebook?  If so, check out "Aging Alone" on facebook... many people in the same boat with you!!  hugs

Do I know someone who is lonely

Message 2 of 2

Yes I do, myself! I retired a year ago June due to some health issues! I'm 62yrs young and I'm divorced. I live with my 35 yr old daughter and my two grand kids. I'm never asked if I need to go anywhere or would l like to go anywhere because I walk too slow due to my knees and arthritis in my hips. I sit in my bedroom and read, look at TV or play games on my phone. Whenever I ask can I be taken some where it's a problem. I live in Chesapeake, VA is there any where in my area that has something or somewhere for seniors to gather and beat this loneliness? PLEASE HELP! Thank you. W. Washington
