too old to donate plasma?

I went to donate plasma at a clinic in Raleigh NC and was told that the clinic would not accept me as a donor because 1,I was over the age of 65 and 2, I was not previously registered with that clinic.

Is there an age barrier for donating plasma?

Call the Red Cross, they can tell you definitively; however, I am pretty sure my wife has donated plasma post age 65. We, too, are in NC.
