@aberr - It would be better to leave the politics out in this discussion, and stick to the harmful effects of EMF (electromagnetic fields), RF (radio frequency) waves, and microwave cooking on foods. The damaged isn't just caused by commercial transmissions, but the electronics most people today can't let out of their sight .. smart phones, cell phones, tablets & other wifi devices .. which create fields around us that aren't healthy.

Re: The Effects of Stress on Your Body
Probably this will be censored off the comments. But I'll give it a try anyway. Here's some stress. 26 top cancer specialists from around the world have classified the radio-frequency microwave radiation, pulsed out at the speed of light, 24 hours a day, every day, all day, all night, as a class 2b carcinogen. The only benefit from them is to give trillions in profits to made-in-China industry. Yes. And these cancer causing wireless transceivers insure ongoing trillions in profits because you have to replace them every 5 to 10 years. These stupid wireless transmitters don't last for decades like the safe, secure, reliable, accurate meters we used to have. Furthermore, these wireless transceivers being forced on our homes act as minute-by-minute surveillance devices. And, as if cancer and high cost and surveillance weren't bad enough, these wireless devices are vulnerable to cyber attack. I think we all should not remember Obama for the disastrous Obama-care. I think it is far more significant that Obama forced these harmful, dangerous spy devices on every home and building in the USA. Remember Obama's invasion into our homes with smart meters... And remember he handed out billions of our own tax dollars were to over ride the resistance, to silence our protests, and get the utility companies to go against their own customers.

So what do the doctors say.. reduce the stress in your life or find ways to cope.
That said, why do people sit and watch the news all day watching stories designed to get a high reaction from us? Why do they participate in discussions that get so ramped up that people talk to each other in ways that they would never do otherwise? Can't we just ignor or walk away?
I’m part of two online cycling communities. We’re talking worldwide participation from tens of thousands of members. There are many, many differences of perspective at play in every conversation we have. And, statistically speaking, we are competitors, (so you might think there are axes to grind) for we are trying to beat the standing record, be it the world record, the course record, or even our best friend’s time in an event. However, these past three weeks while the northern hemisphere’s recumbent racing season is getting underway and we are as individuals setting our goals and schedules for the year, we are chatting about style, training, tracks and courses, events, safety, pedal stroke efficiency et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, and yet I’ve not seen one nasty, snarky or unkind comment posted over the dozens of threads of which I am a part.
Instead we are actively working together to build our sport, to build one another up, to share information and to better understand one another.
Here’s what I have come to see as the difference maker: athletes know they compete only with themselves; competing only with oneself teaches one not to take offense when someone maligns your character, because we know ourselves exceptionally well, and know our motivations. Athletes get plenty of quality exercise, eat well, take care of their health and know the immense power of positive thinking. Indeed, when we run into opposition or nastiness, we are generally adept at taking that energy and turning it into a propellant for our own success.
This behavior is often seen as emotional maturity.
BTW, working together we have seen, in these past 3 weeks, 200% growth in Senior Games across America that allow recumbent racing. So not only will emotional maturity help an individual’s health and outlook, it creates an atmosphere where larger change is possible.

Re: The Effects of Stress on Your Body
@retiredtraveler - We were talking about some people creating stress (totally unnecessarily, IMHO) in their lives .. like pre-adults going into hysterics over celebrities.
I was NEVER part of any "mass hysteria" over any celebrity; I was never delusional about being part of their lives, or being "transformed" if I touched or spoke to them.

"...Even aside from politics, look at how young girls & even young women have worked themselves into a frenzy about some performer/celebrity heart-throb!...".
We boomers (you ladies or your peers) were part of that 50 years ago (can't blame it all on the youngin's).
I'll never forget the Ed Sullivan shows when the Beatles came on.......Hmmm, perhaps some of you were in the audience!
Just think. The world was built by the lowest bidder.

I have virtually cut myself off from political discussions from both sides, since before the November election, to avoid the stress. I don't believe that our discussions here - or in other social media - have any "productive outcome", so there's no justification for getting stressed. In the beginning, I'd open new discussions, and get upset just reading the initial post; now if a "key word" shows up in the e-mail notification, I just immediately delete it!
While we all say we hate stress, so many people allow themselves to get caught up in it, when they could avoid it .. like the people who "couldn't" go to work or school, for a few days right after the election. To use Dr. Phil's expression; they must be getting something from that "hysteria" .. attention, bonding with like-minded individuals???
The other day I got an order via Amazon, where it seemed the seller shipped the wrong model, or left a key piece out of the box. That was stressful enough, not being able to speak to the seller directly, and having to re-wrap a very heavy item for return. But that's something only I could handle, and had to .. so that stress was unavoidable. But it reminded me how much I hate that feeling.
Doing soemthing (action) relieves stress. For many, watching or listening or reading builds the stress because you become anxious or angry and have no way to relieve that stress, so angrily tweeting or posting or emailing etc is a stress reliever. Another response that you don't like builds more stress so another response relieves it again. Finding a way to support your beliefs through whatever action you like is a more effective tool for me as well.

@retiredtraveler - Even aside from politics, look at how young girls & even young women have worked themselves into a frenzy about some performer/celebrity heart-throb! Standing for hours at an airport, waiting for the person/group to show up, just to have a 5-second view of them rushed past by security. Sitting in a theater or stadium crying hysterically, just to see the person/group live. Remember how many girls reacted when Paul McCartney married Linda Eastman; some told reporters that they felt their "lives were over" with him no longer available. And how many young people post vile things on social media & actually threaten someone who begins to date the celebrity "object of their affection"?! It's nuts!
