My Weeping Cherry

Hello AARP Community!

My Weeping Cherry is so sad these days. It has developed brown/purplish spots that eat away at the leaves. I have cut out most of the dead limbs. Does anybody know what this is and what can be done about it? My poor tree needs love. Advice appreciated. Thank you.
