METHOD OF PAYMENT

The terms for purchases in the rewards catalog state Apple Pay and Google Pay as an approved method of payment. Are funds in my Apple ID account and In Google Play account considered the same thing.

Apple Pay connects to your credit or debit cards and can be set up in Settings on an iPhone or iPad.
balances on apple gift cards or in your apple account (used to be iTunes balances) aren’t an option for Apple Pay.
Quick take:

Apple Pay is a secure system to pay for things using your credit/debit

Apple balances are funds to pay for things from Apple

Thanks for the 411 Alan. I had just checked back in the Apple Support Forum and had gotten the same answer. Much appreciated.

Back in the day when AARP was offering streaming service e-gift cards i.e (CBS All Access ( ITunes) and Google Play) I managed to accumulate funds in these accounts, that I am now having a difficult time spending. Most of the streaming services now won't accept them as a method of payment anymore.
