Rights, Equity, Inclusion, Members

I joined AARP because I thought you were an organization that would help defend the rights of aging Americans.  This should include women's rights.  So, WHY do you have ads for Hobby Lobby on this site?  I am appalled.  I am hoping this is just a temporary lapse in judgment.  Please, please, do not allow this company room to air its ads on our space.

I agree with LindaS. It is SHAMEFUL that AARP features ads from Hobby Lobby. SHAMEFUL.

I started a Chat Session with AARP, and they told me categorically that there were no Hobby Lobby ads on the AARP website. FALSE! They told me they were on my computer, but they only appear on my computer when I access the AARP website.

Please get rid of Hobby Lobby, and please tell your Chat specialists to stop lying. \

Thank you.

I think the most appropriate contribution I can make to this thread at this time is to say,

This is one of the reasons I find songs that call out duplicitous piety so encouraging.

Agreed, Linda.

Unfortunately this struggle has been going on for decades, not just regarding HL but for issues including Medicare covering ED drugs but not birth control or menopause treatments.

In fact, my mom and her friends in the senior community used to joke about earning money from the ED drug users with "hand jobs"; crude, yes; but indicative of the REAL issue? As women of their generation knew, for the men in control at the time, sex ruled...

...sad their great-granddaughters are still facing the same battles, which are now growing worse AGAIN, don't you think?
