Please be careful when anyone offers money or gift cards

Please be careful when anyone offers money or gift cards

& be suspicious of any links to click on

(other than by AARP moderators or members you feel you know well).

...you never really know where they will actually go

best to look up info on your own

current example:

Does anyone have experience with Medicaid?

a 'newbie' who just joined minutes ago has posted a link to click on...

"we've created a survey here<<<< the  link

& is offering a

"$50 gift card to two folks who complete the survey as an incentive"

You always have to be alert to possible scams & malicious people who are always looking for vulnerable & naive people....like so many of the good-hearted people here.

Stay safe!

Anyone catch the "work from home" job that paid $25/hr with full benefits, & no experience necessary?

Um wasn't sure  how or to who, if something looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Think about this too:

A stranger wants to give you money or gift cards

So if you are “selected”

YOU HAVE TO GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFO ...NAME ADDRESS PHONE ETC ...IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE SO CALLED REWARD

@Therapist4u

I saw one the other day that looked like it might be a scam. I see that we can flag the moderator but maybe we need to way to warn users while the moderator(s) look into the post. What about a tag to indicate a potential problem? It would need to be obvious enough to catch the attention of new and infrequent users.

Yes ...I was in the process of adding info...but I did notify a moderator

also time is of the essence in warning folks...once they have clicked on something there is no "safety net"

I agree....we need a way to FLAG or as you put it

"tag to indicate a potential problem"
