Our 2023 ID.4 VW was in an accident on Dec 3, 2022. We have spent most of the time since then waiting for parts. VW says that the parts are on back order with no date for delivery. It has been 8 months. What can we do?

Why are auto parts on backorder?

Manufacturing snags. Factory shutdowns. Shipping issues. All these can mean the part you need to repair your vehicle's mechanical or cosmetic components might not be available when you need it.

Visit an independent shop, which has more flexibility than dealers that usually have to use official replacement parts. Don't be afraid of used parts if they come with a warranty.
