Entering a members user name in replying to a post

What gives with typing the @ in front of a users name. I know its suppose to notify them that someone is replying to a post but every time I type the @ then choose the user name from the drop down list and hit the enter key to start my reply the page goes to the profile page. I return and load the draft and it goes back to the profile. After 3 - 4 times it finally work's. ??????????

Don't want to leave you hanging, here... Maybe don't hit 'enter?' See if that works. @>click user name, and type your reply. Only issue I have with tagging is when they're not in the thread, need to remember their handle, but when I can't remember it, have to find one of their posts, copy their user name, and then @ and paste. Not a fan. Hope this helps.
