Is There a Direct Link from the AARP Homepage to this Community Discussion Area?
Maybe its just me, but I had to search high and low and use an external search engine to find the AARP Community Area.
Member Discussion Forums are one of the most important areas of any group websites. It should be more visible to anyone joining AARP.
I I read with interest the article in Dec. 8th issue: "12 Mistakes You Make at the Doctor’s Office A physician’s advice for how to make your visit go well". This article by Dr. Sach misses one very important point...the doctors don't spend enough time (<15 min per appointment?) and don't encourage the patient to say anything! The old beside manners are long gone? They rely on charts and data...not on "touching" or "feeling" the patient to do their diagnosis. All new and practicing doctors should listen to Dr. Abraham Verghese's (of "The Covenant of Water" book fame) TED talk on "The Doctor's Touch"...

That ritual between the doctor and the patient needs to be re-instated to have the best outcome for the patient from a Doctor visit!!
