Denied store credit card although have high credit score

Being a retired senior with extremely high credit score am very upset that I was declined from receiving a local home store credit card.

You will receive a notice from one of the credit reporting services that should advise why this was declined.

In our case, we were advised "debt income ratio too high".

I just had my credit score go down two points because:

I DIDN'T CHARGE ENOUGH ON MY REVOLVING CHARGE ACCOUNTS.

Go figure.......
