AARP Eye Center
I purchased 2 $500, and 3 $100 Carnival gift cards more than 24 hours ago, and I haven’t received them. Apparently, there is an intermittent glitch that happens when AARP tries to send the digital cards to the purchasers email. I see this has been going on for years!! Shame on AARP allowing this to continue to happen. The amount of the purchase is pending in my account. My cruise is next week, and I need them ASAP!! Telling me that my case has been escalated and it could take 5 days is shameful!! I just joined AARP, and if I don’t get my gift cards in time, I will be cancelling my membership, and requesting a refund, because this is ridiculous, especially since it’s an ongoing problem!!
Hi Dana, I'm sorry you've not received your gift cards yet! It is frustrating, and we're happy to help. If you have not already done so, please add our redemption email to your email address book to stop your email provider from blocking or sending emails to a Spam or Junk folder. It is email@email.aarp.org. If the issue has been escalated, you will be contacted at the method you listed as preferred in 3-5 business days. Please reach out in a private message, and I'll be happy to look into it for you. Thank you! Jodee R.
@DanaG812126 I understand! Has the issue been escalated or would you like me to look into it for you? If so, please reach out in a private message. Thank you. Jodee R.
I just checked my bank statement, and the over $1700 has been taken out of my account. I was told that my case has been escalated. However, an escalation without a resolution is useless. Again, this is an ongoing issue as evidenced by the multiple posts on AARP’s community forum, so at this point it seems like fraud. If I don’t get my gift cards by noon today, I’ll be contacting my bank for a charge back, contacting the local news, State Attorney’s office, and filing a complaint with BBB.
It is obvious that this is an ongoing issue, because there are posts about it from years ago. AARP should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to continue, and they should not be allowing it’s members to purchase gift cards until this issue is permanently resolved. I need my gift cards for my trip next week, so make sure the escalation includes that information!! I just joined AARP, and by far it’s been my worst experience with any company!!
