Banks/credit unions

Does AARP have a specific training or designation for banking institutions that denotes that they take Fraud/Scams seriously?  I am part of an Elder Abuse group in Gainesville Florida and we were discussing scams that involved the elderly and how institutions could be partners with us to prevent the financial abuse.

@JoannW492019 Great question, I'm glad you asked! The BankSafe Initiative helps the financial industry better meet consumers’ financial needs and safeguard their assets. The initiative focuses on four key areas:

  • Preventing financial exploitation
  • Empowering family caregivers
  • Helping those with dementia
  • Making banking tools and environments easier to access

Complete information can be found on our site: https://www.aarp.org/ppi/banksafe
