Accessibility for Wheelchair bound vehicle rentals

Greetings!

I just spent two days trying to get a wheel chair accessible van in Phoenix, AZ. There are no methods to request this on the AARP Travel site.  After Googling this request, supposedly there are two rental agencies that support wheelchair accessible vans, Hertz and Enterprise.  Guess what! They no longer support this!

I finally got a phone number who gave me the number of a company in Phoenix that does provided this service:  866-224-1750

I hope that AARP will provide more services in this area.  I am not wheel chair bound, but my friend in Phoenix is.  It would be nice to have a smoother transition in finding a vehicle for a wheelchair bound person.
