Seriously, I play to beat my highest score. Simple!  I'm learning the games, so know that I can't beat the high score person/s. And besides, the games I play are fun and I can turn off the sound and just play. Great life.

I love slots and would go to the casino's everyday if I had the money. I like playing Hollywood Dreams

slot game because it uses up my spare time and does not cost anything. Today was the first time I received the Daily Top Score.

I like to do the same. Listening to what's going on in the news & especially the impeachment trial always keeps me awake so I enjoy playing my games.

I enjoy playing all the solitaire games, the mahjong games & word games to keep my mind going. My husband has dementia so I prefer to play an hour before I go to bed because I find it relaxing.

Wow, @zoolady, what an interesting reason to play games. I've seen people reveal plenty of different reasons why they play games, but I've yet to see anyone else say it was to help stay calm while listening to political news.

Does anyone else out there play games for the same reason?

I hear ya Spunshine. I dont suffer fools & buffoons very well at all either. I also dont have any use for cheaters and hackers. Here is the highest hacked/cheat score I have ever seen on Scramble Words. Ive included a screen shot. What a loser......Bogus scores 3.png

I primarily play Solitaire Games on my phone because it is the once piece of electronic equipment I can put down or pick up on a moment's notice. I like Solitaire because it is a one person game. I don't particularily like interacting with people because I have no patience with fools and I tend to answer those fools rudely and dismissively (and people who appear to be fools to me might not necessarily be fools, so there is that). Better Solitaire than rudeness. The phone also keeps track of how many steps I take per day which is important to my health and mobility, so another reason for carrying the phone. I also carry a Samsung Tablet with about a 2,000 books stored on it, because I really enjoy reading and this gives me lots of reading material so I'll have no excuse to complain of boredom (although if someone interrupts me, there is no guarantee of my polite reception). This personal story is not totally about "games" but it it is my answer.

You're not alone, @pa4320. I think a lot of us are here for the same reason.

Have you tried the AARP Staying Sharp program, by any chance? Staying Sharp is a program that provides evidence-based information and actions you can take to maintain and improve your brain health as you age. https://stayingsharp.aarp.org/
