How do I start a new game of Syllacrostic?

Simply visit the game page and click the Daily Puzzle button. There’s a new one each day! And, you can also access hundreds of previous puzzles.

Why can’t I play Syllacrostic in Theater Mode?

The Theater Mode feature is temporarily removed because it’s not acting correctly on Syllacrostic. We are working to bring it back soon. In the meantime, you can enjoy playing in standard mode.

When do new Syllacrostics appear?

A new Syllacrostic appears every day at midnight, Arizona time.

Can I only play once per day?

No! You can access the full back catalog of Syllacrostics at any time. From the main game screen, just click on “More Puzzles.” Click on one of the numbered blocks, and then choose from any of the 25 games that appear!

How do I play Syllacrostic?

Your goal is to click syllables on the left-hand side of the screen so that they create a word that answers the clue located on the right-hand side of the screen. When you’re ready to choose one of the syllables, be sure you click on the blank line under the clue on the right side that you’d like to fill in first. When you’ve completed a word, the clue will disappear — and so will the syllables you’ve used!

What if I place a syllable in the wrong place?

Click the syllable you’d like to remove and then click the red “X” to remove the fragment.

What if I create the incorrect word for a clue?

The syllables will be removed from the clue and returned to the list of fragments on the left.

Can I move the syllables around?

Yes. Click on the green “shuffle” button to randomly move the syllables into new positions. This could help your brain connect new words!

What happens if I win?

When you complete the game, you’ll then be able to submit your score. You’ll also see how long it took to complete the game, so you can continue to strive for your personal best. See you on top of the leaderboards!

Can I switch from light mode to dark mode?

Yes! If you’d like to switch the colors of the game from heavily white to heavily black, or dark mode, simply click on the “I” logo in the top right of the game, then click the bar beneath “Dark Mode.”
