Deal or No Deal FAQ
What is Deal or No Deal?
Deal or No Deal is the officially licensed version of the wildly popular game show of the same name.
What is the goal of the game?
The goal of the game is to make as much money as possible!
How do I play?
To begin a game of Deal or No Deal, you’ll choose your personal briefcase from an assortment of 30 that each contain a dollar value inside -- as small as a cent and as large as $1 million. Then, for each round, you’ll choose several more cases to eliminate from the game. When you eliminate a case, the dollar amount inside is removed from the board. With some good luck, you’ll mostly eliminate the low-value cases!
At the end of each round, you’ll get a call from the banker, who will offer you some amount of money to walk away. Either accept the offer (DEAL), counter it, or decline (NO DEAL) and choose some more cases!
At the end of the game, if only your case remains, you can open it to see what you win.
When does the game end?
The game ends when you accept the banker’s offer (or the banker accepts your counteroffer) or when there are only two cases remaining. At that point, you choose either your case or the other remaining case and take what’s inside.
How many cases do I choose per round?
You’ll choose six cases to eliminate in the first round; after that, you’ll hear from the banker. The next round, you’ll choose five cases before getting a call. The next round will be four cases, and so on, with one fewer case to eliminate each round. Eventually, you’ll get a call from the banker after every case you eliminate.
How long do I have to consider the banker’s offer?
Not long! You get just over 10 seconds to make a decision.
What happens if I don’t respond to the banker in time?
If you let the time go by, the banker will take your non-answer as NO DEAL, and you’ll be asked to eliminate more cases.
Do I win real money?
No. However, the game remembers the cumulative amount of money you’ve won and displays it at the top of the game start screen.
Can I turn off the sound effects and music?
Yes. At any time you can click on the settings gear at the top of the screen and toggle the music and effects on and off.

As for the issue you mentioned—where the green Play button fades, but the game doesn’t start—thanks for the details! Let’s try a few quick troubleshooting steps:
-
What device and browser are you using?
-
Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache?
-
Does the same thing happen if you try a different browser (like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge)?

this game is not working for me. I'm signed in as a memeber but while I get as far as the Green play button, once I push play, the green button fads to a light green shadow, but the game doesn't begin.
please advise. Thanks (post edited to remove email address)

Hi, @cd90156642. We’ll need a bit more information to help out. Are you, by any chance, getting stuck on a loading screen like the one shown below after clicking the Play button and watching the ad?
If so, does refreshing your browser help resolve the issue and let the game load properly?

Hi, @cd90156642. Thank you for following up. It can be frustrating when things suddenly stop working as expected.
To clarify, it sounds like the game isn't loading past the initial screen now. Does the issue happen in a specific browser or device or across multiple ones? It's unclear if you're playing via desktop PC/MAC or mobile device. Please confirm.
As for the scores, this particular game doesn't have a leaderboard. Instead, it tracks the cumulative amount of money you've won and displays that total at the top of the game's start screen. So, while it may look like no one has played based on leaderboard expectations, that's just the design of this game.
