Will someone explain how it’s possible to obtain a daily score of 300,000+
Today is March 1st.  As of right this minute (8:00am eastern), the “Daily Top Score” is 343,000.

I completed the puzzle in less than 2mins with no mistakes by printing and solving the blank puzzle first, then entering the letters online. My score is 12,200

just when I am impressed with my 39 seconds… it does nothing,

I have resorted to working it out on paper first but this doesn’t seem fair…so I’ll likely go back to just doing it inside the puzzle.

too bad the scores are so looney though! 😩😩😩😩😩

Thar be trouble with the scoring, me thinks.  Assuming no help, that's 10,000.  Daily bonus +50. Here's the kicker.  Max Time Bonus = 300 * 10 = 3000.  Ergo Max daily score is 13,050.  HOWEVER, the average daily score for the monthly thing is > 14000 done in 0 seconds.  Can't be done.

I agree. The high scores on scoreboard are definitely not doable. Today is July 13, even with a perfect daily score of 13050 x13 days, that only totals 169650. July 13 scoreboard shows someone scored 189980. NO WAY!!!

It's due to timezones @Ann56net ; some play after EST/EDT from PST/PDT just to show up on the daily/weekly/monthly leaderboards. Ignore for the first week of the month, then weekly corrects; nobody cares about monthly because of this flaw...

@WebWiseWoman   I thought that must be the case.  It seems to me that this is a glitch that should be fixed.  All scores should reboot at the same time.   I enjoy seeing who is on top even though I'm not one of them like you, lol.    Not only does that mess up the scores for the first of the month, but for a long time thereafter due to the cumulative nature of the scoring system.   Wish this would be fixed!

The only fix I could imagine, @HokiePoq would be if every nation everywhere would be on the same time...

...since there are nations trying to take territories from others, the "same time" thing isn't going to happen, me thinks.

@WebWiseWoman .  It might be confusing,  but a definite time such as midnight EST....or other time zone for that matter...could easily be set.  I think.  But then again I am not a top ten scorer, lol.
