IF youโ€™re in the market for a new car, you could be in for sticker shock. A 25 percent tariff on imported automobiles is expected to increase prices by $2,500 to $20,000, depending on the vehicle, according to a report from Michigan-based consulting firm Anderson Economic Group (AEG). In addition, a 25 percent tariff on foreign auto parts, slated to take effect in early May, could raise prices even higher.

The price hikes wonโ€™t be limited to foreign-made cars. Most vehicles made in America have imported parts. And as new car prices rise, used car prices will likely follow suit, economists and auto industry experts say.

It seems EVERYBODY who is still "working" in my Apartment Complex has a BRAND NEW car!!!

Now the rest of us, yes the OLD PEOPLE  ๐Ÿ˜‰  are "hanging" onto our OLD CARS. Personally, I rather "fix" my 2006 Hyundai Elantra than stay on edge for the NEXT announcement or death about a NEW CAR. I remember my 1st ride, a Hatchback Honda Civic. Also my Toyota Tercel in later years. Back then Honda & Toyota were the companies to trust.

Way TOO MANY issues with brand new cars in my very humble opinion.

And Good Luck when the parts to work on these BRAND NEW rides become a challenge to get.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Take care,

[4/14/25] Fingers, toes and eyes crossed my 2006 Hyundai Elantra last for more years. At age 67 this year 2025, I have ZERO interest in buying another car tariff or no tariff. Too old to create more bills. And my Allstate car insurance would go up.  ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Take care,
