My son, daughter, and myself attended church.  My granddaughter, husband, and great-grandson,  joined us for brunch at a nearby casino.  Another granddaughter cell-messaged wishing me a happy grandmother's day.  Great weather.  Great day.

I spent Mother's Day at home with my 4 legged (cats) kids.  My mom is gone and I have a very very small human family and none anywhere near me.  But it was a nice, cozy day.

My youngest son and family live 350 miles away in Boise, ID so talked to them on the phone.  My oldest son and family came to visit  and my daughter fixed dinner for us.  It was a very nice day.

My name is Gina Brun, On Mother’s Day, May 6, 2019, I was alone inside my apartment for the entire day. I did not have any visitors inside my apartment. The last person to visit me inside my apartment was my brother and girlfriend, which was on March 2018. Since then, no individuals have visited me inside my apartment. I am 52 years old and I live alone. I do not have a boyfriend and I am currently unemployed.  I have been unemployed since April 2012.  I do not and have never received Social Security Disability benefits, food stamps and Section-8. I do not have any health insurance benefits. Unfortunately, my father died if leukemia on August 2012 and my mother died of pancreatic cancer on July 2015. As a result of my parents deaths, my siblings and I decided to sell my parents house thus my money I received from the sale of the house is the source of my income to support myself( pay my bills, buy food, etc).  I do not and have never been appointed a guardian from surrogate court. I do not leave my apartment during the week. I leave my apartment on Saturdays because I usually go to the supermarket, do my laundry at the laundromat or go to the drug store to purchase toiletries. I am not acquainted with anyone in my building therefore, I have never been inside anyone apartment inside my building. The last persons I visited were my aunts on October 2016.

That seems to be the norm in a lot of families now-a-days. Last year my eldest came right out and told me she doesn't have time to talk to me. Must make a poop load of $$$ on that 24/7/365 job! Couldn't even stop by on her vacation. Gina - forget the kids and adopt a furry one! I guarantee he/she will appreciate you!!

Nothing here which is the norm. Some families just don't know how to "family" and mine is one. Two kids and five grans - didn't hear from anyone. Merlin (my dog) and I couch potatoed and fixed stir-fry for supper.

Gee, Gina, maybe you should call them.  Do you have an iPad or laptop?  you can do  FaceTime- talk and see with them at the same time.

You do the reaching out, they might feel they are too busy or not even think about the day.  If you have grudges, dump them in the ocean or lake, don't hang with them.

Put on your favorite music and dance to them!

My kids always surprise me and this year, my daughter got orange chicken, noodles with vegetables, curry chicken with vegetables. My first son got me bbq chicken with salad, my 2nd son brought macaroni salad and my 3rd son brought Tilipia(fish).  As we all arrived, I could hear shouts of laughter outside, my first sons home, my 2 grandchildren were jumping in and out of their new plastic pool. " Look, grandma, we can slide down into the pool " and they did, again and again.

The  joy on everybody's face brought such warmth to my heart!

Then, my grandson wanted to show me something which his daddy showed him- lets play Baseball, but me first!  We all laughed again.

After eating, we all headed out to the big park which is behind their house, even their dog Boo cried so we leashed him up and we all walked around the park.  My granddaughter rode her bike, my grandson got on his racer and I enjoyed walking around the park.

I never wanted that day to end, it was a blessing- good food, laughter, smiles, good spirits and blessed hearts!

Can't  wait till next year!  What will the surprise be?
